Keep the original Word, spreadsheet or design file too: a PDF is usually less convenient for substantial rewriting. Start with the PDF reader to inspect a file.

No. A PDF can contain text, images, shapes and interactive fields. A scanned sheet may be just an image, while an exported report may contain selectable text. Try selecting a sentence: if the entire page behaves like a picture, text extraction may need OCR before it can work.

No. Renaming photo.jpg to photo.pdf changes the label, not the file format. Use Images to PDF for a picture or the source application's PDF export for an Office document. If a website rejects the renamed file, return to the original and convert it properly.

Filestation's public PDF tools run in a supported web browser. Choose a tool, select a file and save the generated output. Device memory and browser capabilities still affect large documents. A browser tool is useful for everyday tasks, but it is not a replacement for every desktop PDF workflow.

Filestation prepares a separate result for you to save. Give it a distinct name such as report-reviewed.pdf and retain the source. A system save dialog may let you replace an existing file, so check the destination and filename before confirming. Do not rely on the browser tab as your backup.

Yes, although not every processing method preserves them. Filestation's editor export can flatten forms or omit interactive links. Strong image compression also removes interactive features. If those features matter, test the exported copy by clicking a link or field before distributing it, and keep the original available.

Viewers can handle fonts, transparency and form appearances differently. First confirm that both devices opened the same saved version, then compare the affected page in another reader. If the source document is available, re-export with suitable font embedding instead of covering a rendering problem with extra text.

No. Check how a tool processes files, what information it stores and whether your organisation approves it. Read the Filestation privacy policy before using the service. Browser-based processing reduces some upload exposure but does not make a shared computer, compromised device or every document workflow safe.

Open the saved result, count the pages and inspect the beginning, middle and end. Check small print, names, dates, totals and images. Test any text selection, links or forms you still need. A successful download means a file was produced; it does not guarantee that all content survived unchanged.

You can try a target size, but reaching it is not guaranteed. A long illustrated document may not fit without becoming unreadable. Page count alone does not determine file size. A single high-resolution photo can occupy more space than many pages of text. Inspect the page content before choosing settings. Not reliably. PDFs often already contain compressed data, and a receiving site may accept only PDF files. A ZIP wrapper also does not reduce the size of the PDF once extracted. Check the upload field's allowed formats before packaging anything, then use PDF compression if the actual PDF must be smaller.

For a final attachment size limit, merge the required pages first and compress the finished document. This lets you check the size of what you will actually submit. Avoid repeated image compression between edits, and do any important text extraction before a compression mode that turns pages into images.

Increasing output resolution cannot recover detail that was never captured. Start with a clearer scan or photo if possible, using even lighting and a steady camera. Then choose compression that keeps it readable. A larger output may look smoother without making uncertain names or numbers reliably legible.

Yes, a PDF can contain mixed page orientations and sizes. Merging does not mean every page becomes A4 portrait. Review wide pages at a comfortable zoom and inspect print settings before printing. If you need a uniform layout, changing it in the source documents is often more predictable.

Filestation's public browser workflow is not a password-removal service and may reject encrypted files. If you are authorised, open the document in suitable software using the correct password and obtain an editable copy. Ask the owner for a permitted version when you do not have access.

Do not assume it does. Changing a signed document can invalidate its signature or remove signature-related structures. Keep signed originals intact and ask the receiving party whether a combined reference copy is acceptable. A visible signature picture in an exported document is not proof of valid digital certification.

Once the order is final, use Number pages. Check that the numbers do not cover existing text, footers or stamps. New printed numbers do not automatically rewrite a table of contents or internal references. Verify those separately before sharing the combined report.

Covers, contents pages and unnumbered inserts count as pages in the file. A printed label is not necessarily the page's file position. Select using the preview content, especially for official attachments. Open the exported result and verify the first and last selected pages before submitting it.

Filestation generates an output copy; it does not silently replace the source on your device. Keep the original and name the shorter file clearly. Other software may offer separate delete-after-extract options, so check its settings. Adobe's extraction documentation explains those choices in Acrobat.

The editor keeps at least one page. If you need a completely different document, start a new workflow rather than deleting the entire file. For plain notes, use Text to PDF. If you only need one original page, select that page and export it as a new document.

No. Covering text can leave the original content underneath. A dedicated redaction workflow is needed to remove sensitive information, followed by careful verification. Select the added item and use Delete selected item, or remove it from the editor's added-content list. Undo can also reverse a recent change. These controls manage objects in the current editing session; they do not promise to identify and remove arbitrary annotations from every imported PDF.

No. Crop PDF changes the visible page area, and the cropped material can remain in the file. Use it to adjust margins, not to conceal private information. Adobe's cropping guide also distinguishes hiding the page area from removing its content.

Use Watermark PDF, enter a short label such as DRAFT and prepare a copy. Inspect every page to make sure the watermark does not obscure essential text. A watermark communicates status; it does not encrypt the document or prevent someone with editing software from changing it.

First check that you opened the newly exported file rather than an earlier copy with a similar name. Make the final edit, prepare the download again and save under a distinct name. Reopen it in a separate reader. If the issue remains, retain the original and note the affected page and operation.

Try Fill PDF forms for supported AcroForm fields. Enter the values, process the file and reopen the result to check each field. If the document is only a flat image, added text may be suitable when the recipient allows it; that does not create interactive form fields.

It may be a scanned paper form or a PDF with text lines drawn on the page rather than interactive fields. Try selecting a field in a suitable reader to confirm. You can add visible text with the editor, but ask the sender for a fillable version if their process requires structured fields.

The public form tool supports AcroForm text fields, checkboxes, dropdowns and radio buttons. XFA forms and some custom scripted behaviours are not supported. Check totals and conditional sections manually. If a form depends on special calculations or scripts, complete it in the application recommended by its issuer.

Some PDFs use form technologies a browser cannot display properly. Download the original and follow the issuing organisation's viewer instructions. Do not assume a blank browser preview means the form is empty. Filestation does not support XFA, so repeatedly converting such a file may remove required form behaviour.

Open Sign PDF, draw your signature and position it on the correct page. Review its size and placement before saving. This adds a visible signature image; it does not verify identity, issue a signing certificate or provide an audit trail. Check the recipient's acceptance requirements first.

No. A drawn signature is a visible mark, while certificate-based signing can provide a mechanism for verifying a signer and detecting changes. Filestation's signature tool creates the visible image only. If your recipient specifies a certificate, use the signing process they require rather than relying on appearance.

Flattening may be useful when you need the completed fields to appear as ordinary page content. Use Flatten PDF only if the recipient does not need to keep editing or reading the fields as form data. Preserve an unflattened copy and verify that every entered value remains visible.

No. Filestation flattens supported AcroForm fields, not every annotation or document feature. Other software can still modify a flattened document. Use flattening for the intended form appearance, not as access control. If a file requires restricted access, follow a separate approved security workflow.

You may have saved the original, used an unsupported form type or exported through a workflow that did not retain the fields correctly. Try filling a fresh copy in the dedicated form tool, then check the downloaded result. Do not send a form until the saved copy shows the actual answers.

Keep the signed original intact. An edit may affect signature validity even if the visible signature remains. If a correction is required, ask the parties involved for an approved revision and signing process. A visual copy for reference should not be presented as an unchanged signed original.

Photo to PDF places a selected image on a PDF page. Capture the whole sheet in even light and hold the camera parallel to it. This tool does not automatically correct perspective, detect page edges or recognise text. Retake a poor photo before converting it.

The image is fitted to the page while retaining its proportions, so a square or wide photograph can leave margins. Crop the original image appropriately before conversion if needed. Do not stretch important documents just to fill the sheet; distorted text and signatures can make them harder to read.

Browser image decoding varies by format and device. If a photo fails, export a copy as JPG or PNG using a trusted image app, then retry. Keep the original until you confirm the result. Merely changing the filename extension does not turn an unsupported image into a supported format.

Use PDF to JPG and export the required pages. Multi-page results may be packaged as a ZIP. Open the extracted image to check its dimensions and readability. The result is a picture of the page, so it does not retain selectable PDF text or interactive form fields.

JPG is often convenient for photographs and smaller image files, while PNG can be useful for crisp line work and text screenshots. Compare the actual output and the destination's requirements. Try PDF to PNG when you need a lossless image format, noting that its files may be larger.

A scan may contain only pixels rather than searchable text. OCR can add recognised text, but Filestation's public text extraction tool does not perform OCR. Adobe's OCR instructions describe a separate workflow for turning scans into searchable documents.

Do not rely on that. Recognition depends on the handwriting, image clarity, language and OCR system. For important notes, compare the recognised output against the original and correct it manually. Filestation's basic PDF-to-text tool extracts existing text; it does not recognise handwritten content from images.

Recognition can confuse similar-looking characters, particularly in blurred or skewed scans. Check dates, amounts, identifiers and names against the image rather than trusting fluent-looking text. Keep the source image for review and rerun an approved OCR workflow on a clearer capture when necessary. Do not guess uncertain values.

Use ZIP to PDF for an archive of supported images. Non-image files are ignored, and browser decoding limits still apply. Check the output order before sharing. If the archive contains existing PDFs instead, extract them on your device and use Merge PDF to combine them.

Filestation's current converter does not preserve the original images, tables or layout. It is suited to getting selectable text into an editable document. If you need a faithful reproduction, work from the original source or use a layout-aware converter and inspect its output carefully before relying on it.

The PDF may be image-only or may not expose usable text. Try selecting words in the source. If it is a scan, run OCR in an appropriate separate tool first, then try extraction again. A page that looks full can still contain no extractable text data.

PDF text positions do not always encode the reading order you expect. Multi-column pages, headers and sidebars can emerge in an awkward sequence. Compare the result with the source and reorder it manually. For a long document, test a representative page before planning a large cleanup job.

No. PDF to Excel exports extracted text rows into cells; it does not reconstruct formulas or reliably infer a table's structure. Rebuild calculations in the spreadsheet and check every value against the original. If the original workbook exists, request that instead of reverse-converting a PDF.

In Filestation's PDF to PowerPoint, each PDF page becomes a slide image. You can position that image and add new slide content, but its original text and shapes are not separate objects. Use the source presentation when you need to redesign individual elements.

Use PDF to text and download the TXT result. Check reading order, line breaks and any unusual characters before reusing it. This works with existing selectable text, not image-only scans. Plain text also drops visual formatting such as columns, images and most styling.

Save your notes as a TXT file and use Text to PDF. Review wrapping and page breaks in the result. This is a simple text workflow rather than a rich document designer. The current built-in font support is intended for Latin-script text, so verify unusual characters carefully.

Do not assume the current Text to PDF workflow supports those scripts correctly. Its built-in font workflow is limited to Latin-script text. Use a document editor with appropriate script and font support, export to PDF there and inspect the result. Never replace unreadable characters with guessed text.

The public site focuses on the implemented browser workflows. Office rendering, OCR and other extended processing need additional engines that are not enabled as public tools here. A PDF-to-Word text export does not imply full Word-to-PDF support. Use your source application's PDF export for that task.

Some browsers show a PDF preview. Use the preview's download or share control to save a copy, then open it from your file manager to confirm it exists. On supported phones, Filestation's Save / Share option may let you choose Save to Files rather than leaving the document in a tab.

An in-app browser may handle file downloads or sharing differently from a full browser. Open Filestation in Safari or Chrome and retry with the original file. Finish and save any current work before switching where possible; an editing session is not guaranteed to transfer to another browser window.

Open your file manager and look in Downloads or search for the exact filename. You can also check your browser's downloads list. Folder names and controls vary by device. If the file is missing, return to the completed result and explicitly save it rather than assuming a preview was downloaded.

Large documents can require more memory than a mobile browser has available. Try fewer pages at a time, lower image resolution where acceptable or a desktop computer. A clear name helps recipients identify the attachment and helps you avoid sending an old version. Use a descriptive name such as application-supporting-documents.pdf, following any portal-specific naming rules. Renaming does not change the file's contents, size, permissions or format, so review those separately.

Filestation currently offers five guest download results tracked in the browser, then asks you to sign in. Check the account page for sign-in availability; Google sign-in must be configured before that route can be used. The quota is not a payment confirmation or proof that your document has been uploaded.

The public PDF operations covered here process document bytes in your browser. That does not mean the whole website has no network activity: pages, account requests and ordinary website delivery still use network services. Read the privacy policy and assess the particular workflow before using sensitive material.

HTTPS protects a network connection; it does not automatically password-encrypt a saved file. Filestation's normal PDF output is not a promise of encrypted document storage. If you need file-level protection, use an approved encryption workflow and test it separately before sharing. Do not treat a website padlock as document access control.

No service can credibly remove every risk. Device security, document sensitivity, software behaviour and how you share the result all matter. Keep software current and use tools approved for your situation. For organisational records, your team's policies and technical review should determine whether a workflow is appropriate.

No. Cropping changes what is visible but may leave the original content recoverable. Do not use it for private addresses, account numbers or confidential notes. Use software that explicitly removes selected content and offers inspection of hidden information. Filestation's public annotation tools do not provide that guarantee. Adobe's redaction instructions describe applying redactions and optional sanitization in Acrobat Pro. Follow your organisation's approved process and verify the saved output before releasing it.

Yes. Metadata, attachments, annotations or hidden content can exist beyond the visible page. An ordinary visual edit does not demonstrate that all of these have been removed. For a sensitive disclosure, use a suitable inspection and sanitization process. Do not assume an exported copy is clean just because it looks correct.

No. Closing the editor or removing its selected file does not erase the source from your Downloads folder, cloud storage, backups or previously shared messages. Review those locations separately when managing document retention. Filestation's editing interface is not a remote wipe tool for copies on other devices.
