PDF to Word: how it works

Extract selectable PDF text into a DOCX file for editing in Microsoft Word or another compatible word processor.

  1. 1

Choose a PDF containing selectable text.

  2. 2

    Run PDF to Word.

  3. 3

Download the DOCX and check paragraph order before editing.

Before you start: Text extraction only. Original layout, images and tables are not preserved. Scans need OCR first.

PDF to Word FAQs

Will the Word file look exactly like my PDF?

No. This tool extracts text rather than recreating the original design. Images, columns and table layouts are not preserved. Scanned PDFs need OCR, which is not provided by this tool.

Are my documents uploaded?

The tools listed here process documents in your browser. Selecting a file does not upload its contents to Filestation. Download your output before closing the page; there is no cloud document library.

Are my PDFs encrypted?

The website uses HTTPS to encrypt the connection. Local processing does not automatically password-encrypt your input or downloaded PDF. No website can guarantee 100% security; use a trusted device and keep your original files.

How do I save a PDF on an iPhone?

After creating the result, use Save / Share and choose Save to Files. If a download opens a preview, use the browser’s Share control to save a copy.
