Compress a PDF to a size limit
Try a target in KB for an upload form, then check the actual result. A target is a best effort, not a guaranteed final size.
- 1
Keep your original
Open a copy of your PDF in Compress PDF. Enter the limit the receiving site specifies, including its units.
- 2
Choose what matters
Try content-preserving compression first to retain text and links. If that is too large, image compression offers adjustable resolution and quality but flattens selectable text, forms and signatures.
- 3
Check the actual size
Compare the exported byte count with your limit. Open the result and inspect readability on every page before submission. Reduce image quality or dimensions again if needed.
