How should I start compressing a PDF?

Begin with a content-preserving method, compare file sizes, and inspect the output. Use stronger image compression only when its trade-offs suit your document.

Can every PDF be reduced to 200 KB?

No. Whether a document can fit a particular limit depends on its contents and acceptable quality. A target setting is not a guarantee of the final size.

Why did compression make very little difference?

A file may already be efficiently stored. Savings also depend on images, fonts and other embedded content. A small reduction is not necessarily a processing error.

Will I still be able to select text after compression?

Content-preserving compression keeps the existing page content. Image compression turns each page into a picture and removes selectable text, links and interactive forms. Review the output for the features you need.

Can I compress a PDF without losing quality?

Are my PDFs encrypted?

The website uses HTTPS to encrypt the connection. Local processing does not automatically password-encrypt your input or downloaded PDF. No website can guarantee 100% security; use a trusted device and keep your original files.

How do I save a PDF on an iPhone?

After creating the result, use Save / Share and choose Save to Files. If a download opens a preview, use the browser’s Share control to save a copy.
