PDF to Excel: how it works

Export text rows from a PDF into spreadsheet cells for further cleanup in Excel or another compatible spreadsheet editor.

  1. 1

Choose a PDF containing selectable text.

  2. 2

    Run PDF to Excel.

  3. 3

Download the spreadsheet and review the rows and cells.

Before you start: Text rows are exported to cells. This does not reconstruct tables or formulas. Scans need OCR first.

PDF to Excel FAQs

Will tables and formulas be reconstructed?

No. This tool exports extracted text rows into cells. It does not infer accurate table structure, restore formulas or read scanned tables using OCR.

Are my documents uploaded?

The tools listed here process documents in your browser. Selecting a file does not upload its contents to Filestation. Download your output before closing the page; there is no cloud document library.

Are my PDFs encrypted?

The website uses HTTPS to encrypt the connection. Local processing does not automatically password-encrypt your input or downloaded PDF. No website can guarantee 100% security; use a trusted device and keep your original files.

How do I save a PDF on an iPhone?

After creating the result, use Save / Share and choose Save to Files. If a download opens a preview, use the browser’s Share control to save a copy.
