Number a report or assignment after arranging pages

Put the cover, main content and appendices in the right order before numbering. Select the pages that need labels, choose the starting number and position, then save a copy. Reordering pages later can leave the visible numbering out of sequence.

Review the page-number placement

Open the exported document and inspect the first, last and any rotated pages. Check the number sequence and make sure labels do not cover a footer, signature or existing page number. The tool adds visible labels; it does not automatically rewrite an existing table of contents.

How do I add page numbers to a PDF?

Choose your PDF, select the pages to number and set the starting number. Choose a prefix, numbering style and position, then process and download the result. Check each page so the numbers do not cover existing text or a footer.

Can I start PDF page numbering after the cover?

Yes. Select the pages that need numbers and exclude the cover, then set the starting number for the selection. Numbering follows the selected pages. Review the output to confirm the first numbered page and sequence.

Does adding page numbers replace an existing footer?

No. It adds a visible number to the page. Existing text and page numbers remain, so choose a clear position and check for overlap. Keep the original if you may need to revise the document again.

Can I choose a custom starting number?

Yes. Set the starting number, optional prefix, simple or total format, and header or footer position. Only selected pages receive numbers; check for overlap before sharing.

Are my documents uploaded?

Local PDF tools process documents in your browser. Choosing a file alone does not upload it. Server conversion sends the chosen file only after you confirm. Account storage is optional: Save to account uploads that result or draft to your private library.

Are my PDFs encrypted?

The website uses HTTPS to encrypt the connection. Local processing does not automatically password-encrypt your input or downloaded PDF. No website can guarantee 100% security; use a trusted device and keep your original files.

How do I save a PDF on an iPhone?

After creating the result, use Save / Share and choose Save to Files. If a download opens a preview, use the browser’s Share control to save a copy.
