Local processing

Source tools work without generative AI. Browser AI requires supported hardware and may download a model. Server AI works on phones once its model is connected and you consent to sending extracted text.

PDF Assistant FAQs

Are all assistant results generated by AI?

No. Source passages, key sentences and fill-in-the-blank questions use local text processing. Generative AI is a separate, explicitly enabled mode on compatible browsers. The server AI mode does not need browser-native AI; it requires the site’s model connection.

Are my documents uploaded?

Local PDF tools process documents in your browser. Choosing a file alone does not upload it. Server conversion sends the chosen file only after you confirm; server AI sends extracted text only after consent. Download your output before closing the page; there is no cloud document library.

Are my PDFs encrypted?

The website uses HTTPS to encrypt the connection. Local processing does not automatically password-encrypt your input or downloaded PDF. No website can guarantee 100% security; use a trusted device and keep your original files.

How do I save a PDF on an iPhone?

After creating the result, use Save / Share and choose Save to Files. If a download opens a preview, use the browser’s Share control to save a copy.
